  • Can I read my e-mail when I am abroad?

You can access your e-mail from overseas in one of two ways: Using another ISP You will need to tell the software you are using where to fetch your e-mail from. Using any e-mail program (POP3 mail client) you will need to set the mail server details (found in Preferences, Options or Settings) to mail.which.net and your username to the first half of your e-mail address before the @ symbol. Your password is the same password you use when you log on.
The alternative is to use the webmail system. This will leave your email on the servers, this function will allow you to send and receive emails, and can be found here: webmail. Your emails can then be retrieved in the usual manner on your return.

  • What is the maximum message size that can be sent or received on my which.net mail address?

The maximum message size you can send or receive using our system is 40MB per message. Allowing for headers and body text this means you can send or receive an attachment with an e-mail of approximately 35MB in size. Your which.net mailbox is a total of 150MB in size and once this limit has been reached it will reject further messages until you have picked up the messages held on the mail server. When sending from the webmail however, you will not be able to send more than 6MB attachments.

  • How do I set up multiple e-mail addresses?

Subscribers to the full Which? Online service can set up four additional e-mail addresses.

  • How do I reset my password?

Passwords can now be changed for both primary and secondary accounts. However there are restrictions about what you can use for your passwords. These restrictions have been put in place in order to safe guard your account. There is an indicator and this must be strong before it will allow you to set your password. Your existing passwords are no longer available in plain text. The upgrade has ensured all passwords are encrypted.

  • I've forgotten my password?

Please phone support on 01992 822863. They will require additional information about your account and should be able to reset your password over the phone. Once this has been done, we encourage you to use the Account Area to reset it.

  • How many email accounts can I have?

One Primary account and four additional Email accounts.

  • How do I create a new email account?

Log into the portal and follow the URL at the bottom, click the "New Email" button at the bottom of the page.

  • How do I delete an email account?

You can only delete secondary email accounts, use the "delete" button under each secondary account to remove this from the system.

  • How can I check my mailbox storage space?

Currently we are reviewing this feature and it may be available in the future. You will be warned via email when you get close to your email size limit, which is currently 150mb.

  • How can I set-up auto-reply / email forwarding?

This feature is available from the portal area the primary account can be updated on the main screen. This can also be set up for secondaries by following the link at the bottom of the page.
